A graduate assistant in Materials Science and Engineering, Nabil’s academic journey spans continents, having earned an MS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Nevada Reno after completing his undergraduate studies in Bangladesh.

Selecting UConn’s Materials Science and Engineering program was a natural choice for Nabil, driven by its renowned excellence, state-of-the-art laboratory resources, and an accomplished faculty team, including advisors Dr. Lesley D Frame, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Serge Nakhmanson, Associate Professor. His strong desire to experience life on the East Coast of the USA further fueled his decision.

Joining the John Lof Leadership Academy (JLLA), Nabil harbored dreams of honing his communication skills, unleashing his leadership potential, and establishing a network with fellow graduate students. As a current member of JLLA, he actively participates in the program’s activities.

Nabil’s current research involves exploring the potential future of next-generation materials, particularly metamaterials. Additionally, he’s engaged in grain growth analysis of metal matrix alloys, contributing to the ever-evolving field of materials science.

Gearing up for the future ahead, he plans to actively participate in conferences and projects, refining his presentation skills and leadership capabilities.

JLLA has been instrumental in Nabil’s journey, equipping him to navigate the challenges commonly encountered in graduate life and fostering his leadership development through workshops and hands-on experiences. With his global perspective and unwavering dedication, Nabil is poised to make meaningful contributions to the world of materials science and beyond.
